Marie Langlet
Luthiste - Member of Les Voix Animées since 2019

Titulaire d'un premier prix de guitare à l'unanimité dans la classe d'Alberto Ponce au Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris et d'une maîtrise de musicologie, Marie Langlet se tourne vers le théorbe, la guitare baroque et le luth renaissance avec Eric Bellocq, Benjamin Perrot et Charles-Edouard Fantin au CRR de Paris. 

En tant que guitariste, elle a collaboré avec l'Orchestre National de France, a participé à la tournée et à l'enregistrement de Yann Tiersen (C'était ici) et a joué avec l'ensemble Cairn (musique contemporaine). Elle interprète la musique de K. Lear, spectacle adapté de Shakespeare en français et langue des signes, mise en scène Marie Montegani, musique Jérôme Combier. 

Dans le domaine de la musique ancienne, Marie Langlet joue régulièrement avec Le Concert Spirituel dirigé par Hervé Niquet (King Arthur, Fairy Queen, Indian Queen de Purcell, Carnaval de Venise de Campra...) ainsi qu'avec la soprano Amal Allaoui dans des programmes de la Renaissance espagnole et française. Elle accompagne régulièrement des ensembles vocaux et instrumentaux ainsi que des compagnies de théâtre (compagnie de l'Aune -ensemble TICTACTUS –ensembles Les Surprises –ensemble 2E2M –Ensemble AEDES –Compagnie La Tempête –La Subversise). 

Par ailleurs, sa pratique de plusieurs instruments l'oriente aussi vers des programmes qui croisent les styles et les périodes musicales, comme par exemple le spectacle « Musiques et vieilles barriques » créé en février 2016, et consacré à l’univers épicurien du vin ou le spectacle « A la recherche de la Princesse de Montpensier » consacré à Madame de Lafayette. 

Marianne Salmon
Luthiste - Member of Les Voix Animées since 2021

Après des études de guitare classique, luth renaissance et théorbe à Toulon, Marianne entre en 2013 dans la classe de Peter Croton à la Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.

En février 2015, entre autre sous l’impulsion du clavieriste Jesper Christensen, elle se consacre au répertoire romantique à la guitare et à son interprétation tout en étudiant le théorbe et la basse continue avec Benjamin Perrot, Frédéric Michel et Hopkinson Smith.

Après l’obtention d’un bachelor d’interprétation en musiques anciennes en 2016, elle se tourne à nouveau vers la guitare classique et entre en formation à l’ESM de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté où elle obtient DE et DNSPM. Sensible à la fois à l’histoire de l’interprétation au XXe siècle et à la qualité expressive des premiers enregistrements, elle choisit de travailler son répertoire à travers ces critères esthétiques.

Jouant ponctuellement en ensemble ou orchestre, elle affectionne les petites formations. Elle forme le duo de musiques renaissance et baroque Amarilia avec Magali Marie et joue en duo avec chant, violoncelle et flûte, ou en solo dans le cadre de récitals en France et en Suisse. Marianne enseigne la guitare classique au CRD de Mâcon.

Romain Bastard

Compositeur, organiste, pianiste, interprète, improvisateur, Romain Bastard est né en Normandie dans une famille d’artistes. Il débute sa formation au Conservatoire de Caen où il reçoit des cours d’écriture dès l'âge de 12 ans. Puis aux Conservatoires Nationaux Supérieurs de Paris et de Lyon où il obtient le Master de composition, en contrepoint, harmonie et fugue. 

Travaillant comme organiste à l’Abbaye aux hommes de Caen, puis pianiste pour de nombreux choeurs et pour des instrumentistes et des danseurs, il est amené à voyager autour du monde : USA, Canada, Suisse, Belgique, Espagne, Italie... 

Il compose dès l'âge de 8 ans dans différents styles. Il y expérimente des harmonies personnelles et différentes techniques. Son chemin s’ouvre, grâce à des rencontres de musiciens de divers horizons : du paysage contemporain à l’orgue baroque, en passant par le jazz ou les musiques traditionnelles. Romain Bastard suit les masterclasses des compositeurs invités au festival de musique actuelle de Caen : Ligeti, Fedele, Taïra, Dusapin... C’est à cette époque qu’il ressent le besoin de lier pratique instrumentale et pratique de la composition dans la lignée des « interprètes-compositeurs ». 

Dès lors, ses différentes pratiques s’enrichissent mutuellement, tel dans l’accompagnement des films muets ou la composition de chants liturgiques. Son catalogue contient, outre des arrangements des Variations Goldberg, des pièces pour flûte, trio à cordes, soprano,  choeur d’enfants et pour choeur mixte. 

Le 15 Août 2017 est créée avec succès sa Messe de l’Assomption à Granville, commande du festival « On the roc ». Elle est chantée dans près d’une dizaine de lieux : le Mont Saint Michel, l’abbaye de la Lucerne d’Outremer, dans le cadre du festival « Via Aeterna » créé par René Martin.

Romain Bastard présente ici son dernier travail, inspiré des architectures romanes, souples et magnifiques, en résonance avec les textes bibliques : un cycle de "trois Motets" à 6 et 7 voix, commandés par Les Voix Animées ("Salve Regina", "Eli, Eli, Lama sabactani ?" et "Pater Noster").

Tomás Bordalejo

Tomás Bordalejo came to Paris in 2005. He first attended class in the Gennevilliers music academy, the CRR de Paris and the Pôle supérieur de Création Boulogne-Billancourt. His encounter with the composer Bernard Cavanna during the composition workshop in the prestigious Villecroze Academy was a stepping-stone for his career. Under the guidance of Peter Eötvös, Pascal Dusapin, Yan Maresz, Philippe Hersant, and Philippe Manoury, Tomás consolidated his proper musical language, which is marked by an original esthetic. 

Tomás worked on 3 new projects in 2019 : A Violin Solo piece for Noëmi Schindler in the frame of Radio France program « Creation Mondiale » (ex alla breve); a piece for the preparatory choir of the CRR de Paris and the Itinéraire Ensemble; and a piece for the Trio KDM. Tomás Bordalejo is the award winner of the Banque Populaire corporate foundation.

Karol Beffa

Karol Beffa, born in 1973, had a general education along with music studies after having been a child actor between the ages of seven and 12, appearing in more than 15 films. Top of his class at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris, he read history (Bachelor's degree), English (Master's), philosophy (Master's at Cambridge University) and mathematics, graduating from ENSAE (Graduate School of Economics, Statistics and Finance).

Enrolling at the Paris Conservatoire in 1988, he obtained eight premiers prix. Coming first in the Agrégation d'éducation musicale, a highly competitive examination for teachers, he taught at the Sorbonne (1998-2003) then at the Ecole Polytechnique (2003-08). In 2003, he earned his doctorate in musicology with a thesis on György Ligeti's Piano Etudes. Since 2004, he is a senior lecturer at the Ecole Normale Supérieure. 

Pianist and improviser, Karol Beffa is a composer whose works have been performed by such well-known ensembles as A Sei Voci, Maîtrise de Radio France, Cambridge Voices, and the leading orchestras (Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre National de l'Opéra de Lyon, Saint Petersburg Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra...). 

In 2000, the Turin International Biennale of Young Artists (BIG Torino 2000) selected him to represent France, and in 2002, he was the youngest French composer programmed at the Présences festival. He has composed three incidental scores as well as the music for 25 films. 

Karol Beffa is a fellow of the Institut de France in composition and won fellowships from the Lili and Nadia Boulanger Foundation (2001), the Music Academy of Villecroze, Natexis Foundation (2002) and Les Muses fellowship (2004). Finalist of the Prades International Composition Competition (2005, 2007), he has won the Charles Oulmont Prize (2005), the SACEM Young Composer Competition and the Chartier Prize of the Académie des Beaux-Arts (2008). In 2013, he won a Victoires de la musique award in the Best Composer category. In 2017, he was awarded the Grand Prix de la musique symphonique de la SACEM. Finally, he was named an Officier des Arts et des Lettres.

His publications include György Ligeti (Fayard, 2016), Parler, Composer, Jouer. Sept leçons sur la musique (2017), Diabolus in opéra. Composer avec la voix (2018) and, with Cédric Villani, Les Coulisses de la création (Flammarion, 2015).

Leo Collin

Born in 1990 in France. Léo Collin studied Art applied, composition and electronic music in Marseille, Genève, Freiburg in Breisgau and Zurich. His work includes video theater, walks, audio works such instrumental and vocal compositions as well as electroacoustic compositions. Furthermore performance pieces are a major focus in his work. Since 2014 his work has been presented internationally at festivals, museums and other places.

He has artistically developed multiple techniques based on internet recycling, object trouvés, hacked machine and objects, and his home made recordings. His work, which is mostly site specific, often includes the participation of the public. He is working with the Kollektiv totem.  He has received many international awards, grants and residencies.

Christophe Demarthe

Christophe Demarthe is a composer and sound designer based in Paris. For many years he has been working at the border of sound and visual arts, creating music and sound architectures for theatre, dance, visual arts, film, radio, television, fashion. In his commissioned work Christophe Demarthe proceeds in small steps, by subtle intuitions, through an incessant game of back and forth between the project under construction and his sound work.

Since 2010 he has been producing soundtracks for dance productions in France and abroad (Superamas, Anne Juren, Annie Dorsen). He started his first artistic collaborations in the 90s with the radio director Jean Couturier (France Culture) and the theatre director Bruno Lajara (501 Blues). In the 2000s, while continuing his work for radio and theatre, he started composing for TV films. Since 2007 he has regularly cooperated with visual artists Pierre Beloüin, P. Nicolas Ledoux and Ultralab, for sound, interactive and video installations (Jeu de Paume, Rennes Biennial, Nuit Blanche…). His latest act in 2017 was his collaboration with Les Voix Animées on Carl Theodor Dreyer’s Joan of Arc (silent movie with live music, Fimé festival).

Christophe Demarthe started his musical career as co-founder and lead singer of Clair Obscur, one of the first groups in the 80s which made connections between music, visual arts, dance and theatre (Le Palace with Killing Joke, La Cigale with The Nits, Wiener Festwochen…). In 2004 he created Cocoon, a global project mixing indifferently electronic music, video, text and performance (Le Nouveau Festival du Centre Pompidou, L’Ososphère, Interstice, Qwartz Awards…). Today he is still diversifying his activities with the launching of Acoustic Cameras, an online collection  inviting sound artists to compose pieces for live webcams located throughout the planet, co-edited by Optical Sound and La Manufacture des Cactées.

Raphaël Languillat

Born in Morocco in 1989. Raphaël Languillat stopped his studies in french-german law to devote himself to composition in 2010, joining Daniel D'Adamo’s class in Reims CRR and graduating from Reims University with a bachelor degree in musicology. Since October 2014 he continues his studies in Master degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt unter the guidance of Michael Reudenbach and Orm Finnendahl.

His works question the loss of attention, inner focus and memory, as well as the acceleration of time in our global society. Integrating more and more interdisciplinary elements in his compositions led him to work as an assistant for visual artists like Christina Kubisch and Tamara Grcic. Active as a visual artist and especially photographer, he is studying at the Kunsthochschule Mainz in the class of Prof. Tamara Grcic, combining sound and visual elements in seek of immersive experiences and new forms of concert. He currently works and lives in Frankfurt am Main.

Anne Mirou

Anne Mirou's musical journey follows the history of music chronologically: in an embryonic state, she was impregnated with Renaissance counterpoint within the vocal ensemble to which her parents belong; as a child, she played the harpsichord, with a predilection for the English virginalist composers of the Elizabethan era, and for the music of Bach, whose liturgical work is for her a real revelation; as a teenager, she takes a liking to romantic music, notably thanks to Mendelssohn; finally, as an adult, she fell in love with Ravel.

At the same time, traditional Irish and Breton music, then jazz, gospel, soul, rock, enrich the resources gathered by her ear as influences on her creativity. In her early days at the Angers Conservatory, Anne studied the bass continuo, the organ, sang in choir, obtained an award for harpsichord and another for music theory. Then, at the conservatory of the 6th arrondissement of Paris, she began studying harmony and piano together.

She was accepted shortly after in the composition class of the CNSM in Lyon, from where she emerged five years later with her master's degree, but above all rich in a founding experience for her job as a composer. Back in Anjou, today Anne Mirou teaches piano and harmony, puts texts that inspire her into songs, is the author-composer of a musical tale for children, transcribes many songs for vocals ensembles and for her pianist students, and composes for Les Voix Animées.

Dimitri Tchesnokov

Dimitri TCHESNOKOVis a French-Ukrainian composer and pianist of Russian descent, born in 1982. He began his musical studies in the Tourchak Art-school in Kyiv, (Київська дитяча школа мистецтв ім. Стефана Турчака) with Svitlana Dembovs'ka (Світлана Дембовська) as piano teacher. Later he entered the Glier Kyiv institute of music, (Київський інститут музики ім. Р. М. Глієра) and studied piano with Elena Verikivs'ka (Єлена Веріківська). Arriving in France at the age of 15, he works with Adam Wibrowski. He obtains the diploma of musical studies at the conservatory of Boulogne – Billancourt in 2001. Later, he continued to work with Livia Rev and Setrak.

After completing his orchestration studies in Guillaume Connesson's class at the conservatory of Aubervilliers – La Courneuve, he devotes himself entirely to composition. He is the author of a large body of work, from orchestral and choral pieces, to chamber music and piano works. His music is not attached to any of the current aesthetic movements. It appeals to a growing public and is being performed in major cities and concert halls around the world.

Although his repertoire encompasses most of the important works from Liszt and Scriabin, having studied percussion, he develops his own pianistic technique and his main focus is directed towards the music of Ukrainian or Russian composers, such as Mykola Kolessa, Valentin Silvestrov or Alexandre Mossolov. He presented for the CANTUS FORMUS (concert serie organized by Nicolas Bacri in Paris) the totality of the piano work of Borys Lyatoshynsky. He is the founder and artistic director of the COMPETITION-FESTIVAL – modern piano repertoire (Paris). In parallel, he also created and directs the CD collection PIANO MODERN RECITAL© He is also in charge of planning concerts for the "NUIT BLANCHE" (Paris).
