Maître Damien
After graduating with a degree in musicology, Damien Roquetty studied voice at the Conservatoire of Aix-en-Provence with Laure Florentin. Passionate about early music, he joined the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles where he worked with Viviane Durand then Isabelle Desrochers and got a final degree (DEM). This solid background led him to sing under the direction of Olivier Schneebeli, Hervé Niquet, Christophe Rousset, Patrick Cohen-Akenine, Jérémie Rohrer, David Fallis. He studied with Christine Schweitzer, Alain Buet, Maarten Koningsberger et Stephan Van Dyck during some masterclasses. He also took part in the Academy of Early Music in Le Thoronet led by Dominique Vellard, in the Fonti e Memorie Academy based on improvisation and ornamentation in early music led by Jean Tubéry and in the Academy of the Festival du Périgord Noir (Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme by Molière and Lully) led by Michel Laplénie. In the CRR of Tours, he studied the medieval and Renaissance repertoire with Véronique Bourin, Jean-Paul Rigaud and Denis Raisin-Dadre. He has sung with Les Talents Lyriques, le Parlement de Musique, la Cappella Genevensis and recorded some music with les Festes d’Orphées and la Dolce Maniera. He worked on some contemporary creations and musical theatre with Soli-Tutti. With Les Voix Animées, he now explores a cappella polyphony from Renaissance to today. He also works with composer and multi-instrumentalist Etienne Champollion, with whom he wanders in several musical styles, between creation, art repertoire and popular music.
